On October 2, Gogol Bordello played at The Grove in Anaheim. After Kal finished playing, the diverse crowd waited in anticipation for Gogol Bordello to take the stage. Chants during sound check, cheers during nothingness, Anaheim was ready. After about fifteen minutes had gone by [in between sets], the head security man came up to me and told me the band pushed their set time back thirty minutes and that they would be playing for two hours. Though you’d expect the crowd to be pissed, they never let up; and when the band finally took the stage everyone in the house was dancing their asses off. With such an amazing sound–and better stage presence than most bands–Gogol Bordello absolutely blew my mind. I had always heard wonderful things about the band’s live show and am so grateful that I got to experience it first hand. If you’ve never seen Gogol Bordello, be sure to check out one of their shows the next time they roll through your town! I promise you when I say that you will not be disappointed.
